The Best Europe Can Hope For [Opinion]

Europeans are breeding themselves out of existence, the megatrend that is driving their politics.  Betraying all the signs of a self-loathing cultural pessimism (Kulturpessimismus), already ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse Europeans are metaphorically "falling on their swords" by failing to make their own off-spring in sufficient numbers, even to replace themselves.  For example, by the year 2100 only 1-in-4 Germans will be descended from Germans alive in the year 2000.  Instead of making their own children, their pitifully naïve, blindly utopian, and radically leftist politicians are encouraging virtually unlimited immigration from anywhere and everywhere to maintain their tax-base, life-styles, and social programs.  This is the case in most European countries, including Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Switzerland, Holland, and France, but worst of all in Spain and Italy.  Cultural pessimism leads to cultural suicide.

Spain is being colonized by wealthy Muslim North-Africans, who now own or control more than half of Spain's real estate.  Approximately 1 of every 5 Frenchmen is now of non-European descent, often a Muslim.  Germany's Muslim Turkish population, only partly assimilated, continues to grow.  Large numbers of people of various origins continue to flow into Europe, primarily from the South and the East.  Not since the Roman conquest of the Iberian peninsula and Gaul has there been such a radical population shift in western Europe.  Perhaps the mass migrations of the Germanic tribes southward and westward ("Völkerwanderung") from the mid-second century AD through the Hun-driven westward flight of the fifth century AD compare in thoroughness.  But these ancient migrations were not nearly as large and swift as the contemporary flood.  Most, if not all these new immigrants, resist or refuse integration into their European host cultures, insisting that Europe adapt to and accommodate them, instead!  And, seeing "liberal guilt" in most Europeans, they exploit it to the maximum.

The currents that contributed to Europe's native baby-bust: 1) the horrors of two, lost world wars; 2) over-zealous post-war "de-nazification"; 3) the cold-war's "communist" (socialist) culture warfare against the values of western, democratic capitalism; 4) bad conscience about their wealth, leisure, comfort, and self-indulgence; 5) but most of all, an envirocentric, anti-technology, anti-humanist "nature mysticism" marketed by the socialist "Greens", have all triumphed over the most basic values of the anthropocentric Enlightenment.

The Enlightenment, invented from older philosophies in 17th & 18th century Europe, Scotland, and England, became the secular creed of English-speaking America's emerging middle class.  It was characterized by a) self-reliance; b) love of personal freedom and individual dignity; c) the utility of common-sense, reason, and science; d) intellectual honesty; e) compassion for one's fellow man as an existential equal before God; f) religious tolerance; g) optimism about the perfectibility of man, and the possibility of progress in society.  Its epistemology was substantially based on what came to be known as the scientific method. 

Marxists and other collectivists of the political left hate the middle class above all other evils and routinely dismiss its core, western values as mere "egotism".

By contrast with "Old Europe", most Americans still live Enlightenment values daily, even though a large and growing sub-culture of Americans and foreigners who hate the U.S. Constitution, American independence, American freedom, and American popular culture work to undermine America's self-confidence by programmatically faulting every single aspect of western culture.  This political outlook, called "Critical Theory" by its founders, was formulated by Max Horkheimer and popularized by other neo-Marxists, e.g. Georg Lukács, Theodor Adorno, Walter Benjamin, Herbert Marcuse, Leo Löwenthal, Friedrich Pollock, Jürgen Habermas, and Erich Fromm of the Frankfurt School's Institut für Sozialforschung, several of whom escaped Nazi Germany and showed up in 1935 at Columbia University's Institute for Social Research.

Cynical, morally befuddled citizens of the UK, Europeans, Scandinavians, Canadians, and other Westerners are caught like insects within a web of philosophical nonsense, the inescapable absurdity of so-called "post-modern" relativism.  When, as they believe, no values are "absolute", how can anyone be held responsible for his actions?  Such people see moral equivalency in a suicide bomber's murder of civilians and a soldier's efforts to stop such attacks.  Incredibly, they favor the suicide bomber as a "freedom fighter"!  The more outrageously barbaric the act, the more these misguided people rage against civil authority for "causing" the criminal to commit his crime!

Those anarchic syndicalists, radical socialists, and Islamists who commit acts of foreign or domestic terrorism and sabotage, or engage in radical civil disobedience and "ordinary criminality" are bedfellows, and they share essential traits.  All these sociopathic perpetrators prey upon the decency of civil society through the cynical exploitation of a democratic society's commitment to guarantee personal freedom.  In time we will learn details of the growing cooperation and mutual support between these anti-social groups around the world.  The presence of Salvadoran and other Central and South American gangsters in US cities, among others, may reveal the kinds of criminal organizations al Qaida, Hezbollah, and others will use to attack soft targets in the US.

Not unlike a majority of the American press, all stripes of the viciously iconoclastic German press are anti-American.  Because Germans are still slaves to "authority" and bureaucratic arrogance, most do not question their monolithic, one-dimensional anti-American press "authorities".  Their journalists, writers, and other so-called "intellectuals" of the political class relentlessly speak and write anti-American diatribes, without noticing that their moral paralysis in the face of pervasive nihilism denies them any claim to moral or political authority.

The left-elite's denigration of German history and culture even employs systematic corruption of the German language.  Over more than three generations thousands of teachers and professors have successfully alienated German students from their cultural heritage by distorting and neglecting instruction in German grammar and vocabulary.  When, as in the Weimar Republic, large numbers of people hate their culture, their fellow countrymen, and themselves, their society is vulnerable to easy destabilization.  See: Deutscher Selbsthaß.

Germany's 1968-generation of socialist revolution / anarchist, street-fighter politicians confidently justify their agenda to build an anti-American, European superpower as a "necessary counterbalance" to "the world's last remaining super-power run amok", as they describe it.  If Germany succeeds in its economic conquest and domination of Europe through the European Union it will have achieved legally and permanently what the Nazis were unable to maintain beyond the reign of the Third Reich (1933 -1945), without firing a shot!  It is not coincidental, that the Poles are nervous, caught once again between totalitarian Russia and socialist Germany.  The opportunistic, pragmatic, and prosperous Irish, the "Jantelov"-socialist Scandinavians, and the ultra-socialist Britons have not yet completely disrobed and crawled into bed with socialist Germany, communist France, and fascist Russia, but they are sorely tempted as they coyly flirt and pet!

Torn between 1) militant environmental extremism, 2) perennial non-state "social anarchy", 3) arrogant, we-know-what's-best-for-you, nanny-state socialism, and 4) desperate national-socialist chauvinism, "politically correct", anti-American Europe has lost its common-sense bearings.  It could altogether cease to be "western" within a generation.  Looming fears of an ascendant totalitarian China, a resurgent totalitarian Russia, and radical Islamo-fascist terrorism may eventually cause Europeans to re-adjust their political compasses, unless they are too far gone to recover and descend into civil war, first.

The unguarded back-door to the citadel of Western culture has long been Judeo-Christian institutions.  Despite signs of a recent revival of faith among young people, don't expect any help from what is left of "ecumenical Christendom", neither from the far-far-left German Evangelical Church, nor the old tyranny of the Middle Ages, the self-serving minions of the Vatican.  Mikhail Gorbachev publicly hailed Pope John Paul II "the world's pre-eminent socialist."  For most in Europe, Christianity has long-since been finished as a credible belief system.  Except for some Roman Catholic parishes, Germany's tax-payer-financed churches would remain empty, if it were not for their political activists!  The radical left and the naïve left now employ religion as a political front for the extreme materialistic egalitarianism they worship as "social justice."  Christian socialists openly describe the ascetic and other-worldly Jesus Christ as a proto-Marxist, a political God re-made in their own image.

Radical, perverted Islamist terrorism promises increasingly to fill this profound spiritual void with violently anti-western zeal--just what self-hating Europeans are looking for.  Islamist suicide bombers of Caucasian descent will finally help Europe (and the West) to count the cost of its cowardice and the diversion of its anti-American binge.  The remaining set pieces for civil war in Europe will then be in place.  It will only be a matter of time before Europeans start shooting at each other with the weapons they are officially prohibited from possessing, but which almost everyone has wisely ferreted away, anyhow.

The rabidly anti-European Hermann Hesse's short-short-story, "Der Europäer", and the cowardly and wimpish Max Frisch's confessional radio play, "Herr Biedermann und die Brandstifter" ("Bourgeois Man and the Arsonists"), are allegories for the present decline and future collapse of European culture under the weight of self-hatred, political naïveté, and old-fashioned cowardice.

Europe's final un-doing will have been its abandonment of the Enlightenment, even as the brutish religious, political, and social nightmare tyrannies they have been unable to exorcize over the last two centuries stalk them, unseen or unrecognized.

Typically, Americans look eastward across the Atlantic Ocean and see European cousins.  By contrast, Europeans look westward across the Atlantic Ocean toward the US and see only competitors, enemies, fools, or devils!  A severe disconnect!

The best that pacifist, America-hating Europe can hope for is that the United States, itself bracketed between hopelessly socialist, America-loathing la-la Canada and culturally chauvinist, America-despising Castro-America, will remain intact long enough as a "western" nation to have the will to save Europeans from themselves a third time!

Europe's naïve "silent majority" may still expect that America will be obliged to save Europe out of self-interest, only to be surprised when an almost completely isolated America is too beleaguered in its own defense to be able to help them.

Some Americans will blindly support U.S. intervention in Old Europe's next cataclysm.  But, most Americans realize that America kept the Soviet Empire off their backs far too long.  Utopian, democratic socialism completely conquered an already subverted, wealthy, smugly comfortable, arrogantly anti-American western Europe within ten years of the 1989 collapse of the Soviet Union and East Germany, when radical socialism completed its westward march to the Atlantic coast of Europe.  To those Americans, Europe is not worth even one more American life! (with the exception of our individual European friends and family, of course!)

Now, major European powers (Franç-land, Russia, and the United Kingdom of Marx and Engels) have picked up the fallen battle flag of "world socialism" and unceasingly brand the United States as their common enemy.  Lesser west-European countries like Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland, Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland, harp and carp in cacophonic harmony from behind the skirts of their bigger sisters.  It is apparent that all these countries gleefully watch as the US struggles to carry almost the entire burden of confronting the world's worst tyrannies, with the help of a few brave nations in the "coalition of the willing".  It is apparent that chauvinist-socialist western Europe is using the "axis of evil" as surrogates to weaken their hated enemy, the US.

When the Soviet Empire collapsed, the socialists' hammer and sickle strategy, (internal front plus external front) was briefly frustrated.  While the socialists continued to [1.] "bore and gnaw from within", [2.] Islamo-fascists took the field in the role of the "serious external threat", reconstituting the two parts of this classic strategy.

We can expect European and domestic socialists to continue hammering the US at every turn while Putin reinvents and revitalizes the Soviet Union, Communist China gains super-power economic and military strength; their client states like North Korea and Iran acquire deliverable nuclear weapons, and narco-terrorist states proliferate in Castro America, including Mexico.  Never before has America been virtually surrounded by so many committed enemies.

• Q: So, what do radical fascist Islam and socialism have in common, when other fundamentals separate them?

• A: Both radical fascist Islam and socialism seek to hand total control of society to a power elite, i.e. the death of democracy, the polar opposite of Enlightenment and democratic capitalism.

Ordinary Europeans seem to have forgotten how to listen to their own survival instincts in the face of a clear and present danger to their culture and their security.  Most astonishing of all for its sheer naïveté is the pervasive "feminist" support for both socialist and islamist tyranny, a tyranny that will gladly reenslave ALL liberated women anew!  This level of "willing victim" naïveté suggests a fate comparable to that of baby birds, when their parents fail to clean their nests.  Parasites eat the babies alive!  The Germans have their own word for these types of people, "Nestbeschmutzer", meaning "those who mess their nests."

Notable exceptions in "Europe" to this laughable and dangerous feminist silliness are the strong and principled women, 1) Turkish-born German feminist, Seyran Ates, who, under constant threats to her life, has now abandoned her Berlin law practice defending women against abusive and murderous husbands and family-members, and 2) the Norwegian journalist and feminist, Hege Storhaug, who bravely warns of the threat radical Islam poses to democracy and personal freedom in her beloved Norway, all at great risk to her own life and safety!  See her book: Men størst av alt er friheten: Om innvandringens konsekvenser. (But Greatest of All Is Freedom: the Consequences of Immigration).  She correctly observes that Islamo-fascists "are coming to get" western women who share her feminist values!

Those of us who have long considered the Islamo-fascists' agenda know that, at it's core, it is mostly about the role of liberated women in society and the threat that liberation poses to the zealots' continued tyranny over their own women.  Maybe it's time for naïve Europeans to confront their follies, alone.  Otherwise, they may never grow up.

One could reasonably say that Eurasia has played its "Islamist card" in the opening volley of World War IV (Norman Podhoretz correctly calls the "Cold War" WWIII).  Now that the bulk of the world's existing and prospective crude oil supply is in the hands of those who wish the US ill, the US is very nearly in check.  Working hand-in-glove with a corrupt, anti-American UN, domestic America-haters feed the flames of American self-doubt in their effort to subordinate America to a corrupt "one-world" socialist government under the UN, the larger agenda of the radical left.

Most Americans, knowing that their country's motives are altruistic, are understandably perplexed at being widely, almost universally, hated.  The politically naïve, those whom the Germans scornfully call "Hosenscheißer" (chickens; cowards), cower and genuflect in their submission to a hostile world.  Other, freedom-loving Americans are emotionally mature enough to courageously accept their new pariah status in an anti-American world, abandoned and disparaged by former European and western hemisphere "allies", who automatically fault the US for everything wrong in the world, except for earthquakes, so far, but some eco-nazis are already working to establish a connection there, too.

Worse yet, the West's naïve and arrogant utopians appear to believe that the US superpower, alone, should be able to control the actions of all the other nations on Earth, as in some giant game of Chinese Checkers.  When this does not happen, these people loudly blame US policy-makers for failing to make the "right" moves.  By the inherent logic of this game, all that is wrong in the world becomes the fault of the US; not surprisingly part of the "blame America for everything" paradigm of "critical theory".

Most omniscient left-liberals in the US, unwilling to believe that America's former allies are the openly declared enemies of the US, which their actions and pronouncements clearly demonstrate, have deceived themselves into thinking that the US could expect European help against the radical Islamists under a new, leftist American administration.  In fact, the principal danger to democratic Europe is a European populace controlled politically by Islamist money and threats, i.e. "Eurabia".  Unlike the 8th-century Moorish (Moslem) attacks on Christian Europe through Spain and into France, where the Frank, Charles Martel's forces defeated the army of the Umayyad Caliphate at Tours, France in 732 A.D., there is today no single, focused battlefield.  Instead, this low-intensity assault is diffuse and wide-spread throughout a Europe asleep with its eyes wide open.

American, leftist, utopian millenialists still dream of reaping a bountiful harvest of public money for the work of socialism, the so-called "peace dividend", which they expected to come their way after the collapse of the Soviet Union.  Radical Marxists, inspired by their prophet, Saul David "Sol" Alinsky (1909-1972), and his Rules for Radicals (1971) [see: Industrial Areas Foundation], seek to carry out the mission of the "liberation theology" movement.  Radical socialists loudly proclaim their intentions to "get it right this time", as they try once again to remake the world into a socialist utopia, (regardless of the cost in human life).  Their snit at the marginally communicative President George W. Bush, is a calculated expression of their disappointment at that delayed pay-off.

Socialist radicals already dominate in both houses of the US Congress, so their plan now calls for capturing the US presidency in 2008 with one of their own, Barack Obama, an agent of  "black theology" and "black liberation theology".  European socialists actively support these efforts in the US with money, political organizers, and campaign workers.

• The December 2003 failure of France, Germany, and United Kingdom to bully smaller European countries into submission to their "leadership" in a united Europe is a potentially hopeful sign.  The economic train-wreck looming ahead for Europe should focus their minds, but probably not before the Islamo-fascist terrorists have begun to blow Europe apart!

• The far-left German magazine, Der Spiegel, offered a hand-wringing early-January 2004 article about Germany's disastrously low birthrate.  Apparently, even German socialists are beginning to see that their suicidal politics may die-out with them !

• Only time will tell whether the March 2004 electoral reversals for Jacques Chirac's Gaullist national socialists are a leftist knee-jerk reaction to the Madrid train bombings, or whether they are the first tangible evidence of a more sober assessment of Europe's trans-Atlantic relations with the USA.

• The unfolding Food-for-Oil investigation into the corruption of high UN, Russian, French, German, Chinese, and other officials helping Saddam Hussein steal money meant to aid sick Iraqi children, may finally reveal the utter depravity, cynicism, and moral bankruptcy of Europe's most vocal opponents of America's war to liberate Iraq.

• In April 2004 ham-handed French meddling in a large French-German corporate merger demonstrates once again that national interests trump "European" interests, even among fellow socialists.

• The April 30, 2004 admission of 10 additional countries to a gradual, but eventual, full membership in the European Union will accelerate all of united Europe's problems.

• It was the height of hypocritical silliness when the naïve, utopian German Federal President, Johannes Rau, lectured the Germans on "negativism" (cultural pessimism) in May, 2004.  A few years back he had confessed "shame" at even being a German.  His denial of his fellow countrymen back then contributed to the same self-destructively hypercritical atmosphere he now decries.

• The vicious, video-taped murder by Islamist radicals in Iraq of Nick Berg, justified as measured retribution for prisoner hazing at Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, should demonstrate to naïve Europe what awaits them.  Typically, the logic of the hapless Nick Berg's pitiable, grief-stricken, naïve, guilty-left-liberal father short-circuited to blame the US, instead of the manifest evil of his son's brutal Islamist murderers.  The radical left, seeing evil only on the "right", is congenitally blind to radical evil on the "left", and cannot call leftist evil by its real name !

• A now-for-sale "Spiegel" article of May 17, 2004 reveals hints of the vast Saudi terror conspiracy to finance "terror-base Germany", which German politicians have publicly ignored or denied for years.

• Seeking the advantage of publicity, Saudi terrorists now use kidnappings and horrendous, video-taped murders of Americans and other westerners to destabilize Saudi Arabia.

• The next successful series of terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Europe is assuredly in the works, and western European politicians can be expected to find a way to blame the US for provoking it.  So it goes!

• Now that the wheels are coming off the German economy, it's getting really interesting.

• On 8/25/2004 female terrorists downed two Russian passenger airliners within minutes of each other, the first of many more such attacks to come, world-wide.

• Growing street protests in eastern Germany against labor market reforms (the so-called Hartz IV measures), led by the radical socialist, Oskar Lafontaine, only looks like the beginning of the unraveling of a united, socialist Germany that has bled the socialist West to feed the communist East.  Are these buzzards coming home to roost?  It is noteworthy, that the socialist SPD and the socialist Greens consistently opposed reuniting the two Germanys in the first place!

• But the increasingly popular opposition national-socialist parties (NPD, DVU, and Republikaner) have a virulent anti-American, anti-establishment, ultra-socialist Germany-First agenda, addressing only one of Germany's many problems.

• Another blow to Germany's staggering economy and self-image: the Chinese opted to buy the Japanese "Shinkansen" bullet train, instead of the German InterCity Express, ICE; not to mention Germany's mediocre showing in the Athens Olympics.  And when the Chinese offered the Germans another high-speed train to build, the Germans fell all over themselves to allow the sale of any and all kinds of weapons systems to the Chinese, despite the US commitment to the defense of Taiwan.  Germany is no friend to the United States; on the contrary, it is a treacherous double-dealer.

• The brutal murders of hundreds of innocent children and adults in Beslan, Russia has finally provoked even the shameless America-hating New York Times to publish a hypocritical critique of other shameless western media editorials that cannot bring themselves to call radical Islamist murderers by their true name, a "death cult."  Now it should finally be clear that even innocent school children everywhere are "fair game" for terrorists.

• Instead of chastising corrupt governments around the world for failing to enable their people to lift themselves out of poverty, the ultra-socialist late Pope JPII, living handsomely in his Vatican palace on the entirely unearned income of donations and criminal enterprises, arrogantly scolded successful societies for having too much wealth--classic, textbook Marxism!

• The battle to "reform" German spelling and grammar by government fiat has fallen apart, wisely abandoned by those who use the German language most influentially in print, including most authors and many publishers.

• The Dutch film maker, Theo van Gogh, has been shot down and ritually stabbed to death on the street in Amsterdam by a radical Moroccan Islamist activist--another wake-up call to a soundly sleeping Europe.  Theo van Gogh's "offence" against Islam was his exposure of Islamic brutality toward its women.  The Dutch authorities will handle the case as a simple "police matter", a la US senator John Kerry, without acknowledging that it is a bellwether of the larger Islamist threat to Dutch and European society.  But the Dutch public knows better!  As Matthew Henry (1662-1714) put it, there is "none so blind as those that will not see."

• The decisive re-election of President George W. Bush has naïve, leftist, politically immature and brain-washed socialists scratching their heads.  After all this time they still don't get it.  America's Enlightenment values make it fundamentally different from Europe.  May it ever be so!

• German unemployment is now almost 13% and climbing.

• On May 22nd voters in the state of North-Rhein-Westphalia told the neo-communist SPD party "No, thank you" and sent them packing.  But these same voters appear not to have any better idea what German national policy should look like than their failed politicians do.  The not-very-conservative CDU/CSU opposition has no coherent plan for governing.  The parties on the extremes are licking their chops, but they have no real power, as yet.

• The French said "non" to a politically united Europe, dashing Germany's hopes of immediate European domination.

• Fears of an out-of-control bureaucracy of unaccountable elites, drove the Dutch voters' resounding rejection of the European Union's constitution, demonstrating that a modicum of common sense still exists in Europe, at least in pockets of sanity.  Entrenched control from the top (tyranny), what Europeans do best, brought most American immigrants to these shores in search of freedom!

• The rest of the world does nothing about the nuclear threat North Korea and Iran pose as Chinese and Russian surrogates.  But, as the world drifts toward nuclear confrontation, Europeans are primed to criticize the US at every hand, whatever happens.

• United Germany will soon demonstrate that it is a genuine Marxist-Leninist State.  The far-left political parties (SPD-PDS[die Linken]-DKP) will institute a policy of confiscatory taxation, not just on income, but also on private bank account balances to "redistribute wealth" in true communist fashion if they are re-elected in fall 2005.  'Der Spiegel' reports that public opinion surveys show that 2/3rds of Germans support the idea.  Crank up the capital flight and brain-drain!!!

• Coordinated al Qaida terror attacks in London appear to have "shocked" Europeans, whatever that is!  But, as in Spain, the Axis of Cowardice will probably just doze off again or knuckle-under to the twin industries of terrorism and pacifism out of cowardice and fear.  Terrorists are counting on Europeans to roll over.

• A "Der Spiegel" article dated July 26, 2005 by Gabor Steingart called "The German Defect" details how successive post-WWI German politicians have catered to their voters' addiction to ever more socialism and government subsidy, hopelessly bleeding what was once Europe's strongest economy.

• "Manager-Magazine.de's" short series of articles at: http://www.manager-magazin.de/magazin/artikel/0,2828,375804,00.html describe a German society that is coming un-glued, a process long aided-and-abetted by "Der Spiegel's" editorial policies, fostered for years by its founder, the ruthlessly socialist iconoclast, Rudolf Augstein, the quintessential Nestbeschmutzer.

• France is on fire!  Young, alienated, native-born and immigrant, Muslim, black, and white gangsters from the far-right and the far-left have set France on fire while elected officials dither.  Predictably, European multi-kulti addicts advocate rewarding the thugs with even more "social program" money in the hope of buying them off awhile.  Europe, Canada, and much of America is a lost cause until things get much, much worse, which they surely will.

• Now even non-Chechen European women, married to Islamist firebrands, are beginning to commit murderous suicidal bombings against their fellow Europeans, a trend that should awaken and alarm a somnolent Europe, if anything ever could!

• The new German pope has his work cut out for him, reviving a moribund European Catholic Church, still perceived by the radical left as a vehicle they can ride to ever more power!

• Russia cuts off Ukraine's natural gas supply, demonstrating what will happen to other European countries if they do not bow to Gerhard Schroeder's totalitarian buddy, Vladimir Putin.

• Now that Iran's Mullah government has duped European governments for more than two years of "negotiation", while continuing to develop nuclear weapons, members of the UN Security Council are naïvely calling for virtually useless "sanctions", which Putin vows to help Iran circumvent.  If he survives, what will Mr. Putin do when Chechens explode their first purloined nuclear weapon in Moskva?

• So far some European editors are showing unexpected pluck by spiting Muslim demands for self-censorship while publishing "blasphemous" cartoons of Muhammad, instead of simply knuckling under.  Many Danes have now begun to understand the threat they face from their own Islamist radicals.

• A typically sarcastic, now-for-sale Spiegel magazine takes a snide and racist anti-white swipe at Germany's new government and its (Heaven forbid) "blond" minister for family matters, Ursula von der Leyen and her seven children, while (sic) warning the Germans again that they are doomed, if they don't make more babies!

• And a subsequent, now-for-sale Spiegel article called "Jeder für sich" (Everybody for Himself) with a tagline of "--how a dearth of children creates a society of egotists" in typical Spiegel double-speak, snidely and disingenuously takes a whack at all sides of the issue, in the vain hope of trying to avoid appearing to have any particular editorial bias.

• On balance, it is clear that Spiegel scoffs at native, white Europeans making babies, but to Spiegel it is urgent that non-whites must hurry up and multiply!  So-called "liberals" clearly endorse these anti-white, racist editorial policies by their deafening silence, while a far-leftist press feeds the flames of anti-white racism.  Demonizing people of European descent, white by the mere accident of their birth, serves to justify persecution of white people everywhere, consciously setting the stage for an eventual white backlash.  Such a backlash will then give Spiegel and the rest of the leftist pack the opportunity to recycle their self-hating mantras, demonizing white Europeans as the world's most egregiously offending racists.  They have already written their self-hating anti-white articles; now they will only need to recycle old copy, just changing the names, dates, and places.  Typically lazy journalism!

• The far-left Der Spiegel magazine, to hold on to a last vestige of credibility, is finally reporting that violent school thugs are in control of many German schools, often the children of foreign-born parents, who have no inclination to integrate into German society.

• Henryk M. Broder's 14/08/06 (now-for-sale Spiegel) article "Wir kapitulieren!" describes a cowardly Eurabia emerging as Europe continues to capitulate to the demands of a bully Islam.

• In Mogadishu Islamo-fascists get away with murdering a 65-year-old Roman Catholic nun in cold blood.  Recognizing that he no longer has any European Christian societies with forces willing to defend his missionaries, even the new Bavarian Pope is on his knees, genuflecting and apologizing to Islamist imams for sins he and his corrupt institutions didn't even commit!  Hopelessly naïve!  Such public weakness further strengthens the hand of the most radical Islamist zealots.

• An October 2, 2006 Spiegel interview with Prof. Bassam Tibi titled: "Europeans Have Stopped Defending Their Values" cites the Berlin-based Deutsche Oper's cancellation of Mozart's "Idomeneo" as continuing evidence of Germany's paralysis in the face of Islamo-fascism's relentless onslaught.

• France now faces a permanent and ongoing "intifada", fighting young, alienated, native-born and immigrant, Muslim, black, and white gangsters from the far-right and the far-left, who lure police into ambushes to injure and kill them.  Islamist "hate preachers" and politicians of the far-left and the far-right will continue to spread this cultural upheaval throughout western Europe with the help of the radical European media.

• More and more, fears that Germany and France may already be hopelessly lost to the West appear to be well-founded.  Mark Steyn's doomsday analysis of Europe's future, titled AMERICA ALONE, and citing compelling demographic statistics to bolster his argument, describes the progressive Islamization and neutralization of "Old Europe" and what remains of the West in the 21st century.

• Naïve advocates of continued Muslim immigration into secular Europe fail to recognize that their utterly ruthless radical Islamists will continue to intimidate or eliminate those "moderate" Muslims who might otherwise be expected to facilitate any conceivable large-scale Muslim secularization and integration into European society.  Bullys always win against the weak and indecisive!

• More and more unemployed German workers are leaving Germany to find work in Switzerland, USA, Austria, Poland, England, Spain, France, Canada, Italy, Holland, and Denmark, among others.

• Socialists of all political parties, labor unions, and radical environmentalists, led by ideological extremists with no common sense, have overplayed their hands, as usual.

• Given the chance, Germans will routinely over-do anything, i.e. anything except common sense!

• Western European economies hope for prosperity in 2007, the year the Democrats hope to snatch US defeat in Irag from the jaws of victory.

• The bottom line of frustration-engendered voter stupidity and ruthless Democrat malevolence in US politics is that the lives of many more American civilians will be put at risk over the next generation in the epic struggle between Good and Evil, between the secular West and radical Islam, between democracy and tyranny.

• Citing the Koran in her ruling on a case before her in Family Court, Frankfurt Judge Christa Datz-Winter, argued as if she had already accepted the basic tenets of Sharia law for Germany, revealing what many in Germany already know, that real integration of people from Muslim cultures has utterly failed in every country in Europe.

• Muslims continue to build their tactical, operational bases in Europe as they collect in large numbers in Muslim enclaves such as that in Malmö, Sweden, where even the local police fear to go, just across the Öresund from Copenhagen, Denmark, just a short 30-minute drive by way of the E20 motorway with concealed loads of high-explosives.

• Is there hope for France?  Defeat of the radically leftist Ségolène Royal and a clear win for Nicolas Sarkozy may signal a sea-change for France, at least among the political elite.

• Thus it begins: the metastasis of radical Islamist terror(tumor) cells.  At least six radical Islamist suspects have been arrested for plotting to attack the Fort Dix army base in NJ and "kill as many US soldiers as possible".  Four were born in Yugoslavia, three of whom are brothers and are in the US illegally.  One was born in Jordan and one in Turkey.  All worked; two had green cards, and one is a US citizen.

• Will spineless US politicians finally conclude that uncontrolled, illegal immigration presents a clear and present danger to America's security?

• The full weight of the European Union's bureaucracy is trying to discredit Poland's government in order to force it to fall into lockstep with the self-destructive far-left social policies of a German-dominated Europe?

• The shocking cell-phone images of the stoning to death of a 17-year-old Kurdish girl, “Doa”, for falling in love with a boy of a different religious sect is emblematic of the extreme depravity of that culture.  The frenzied murderers were in a state of ecstasy as they brutally hurled stones at and gleefully and brutally killed an innocent young woman.

• Radical Muslim culture is all about absolute control and hatred for their own women!  Their women should flee that culture as quickly as possible by any possible means!  Europeans will soon be able to "enjoy" more and more of this kind of dark cultural excitement at home in Europe, both as participants and as spectators in their new Eurabia!

• And now at least eight(8) Islamist physicians and healthcare workers [based predominantly in northern England and Scotland] have been arrested for planting murderous car bombs intended to kill and injure as many British civilians as possible.  What about the Hippocratic oath they took "to do no harm"?  Reportedly a line from the Koran says: "Those who can cure you will kill you".

• Muslim pressure to build Europe's largest mosque in a working-class section of Cologne, Germany is another step in the unfolding of Eurabia!  An even bigger mosque in the center of London is planned.  Old Europe will be unraveled by these kinds of issues, the primary legacy of the arrogant European Left.

• While Europe is being splintered and neutralized as a "western" ally, the US will have to look for new allies wherever it can find them and batten down the hatches against the onslaught of its 360-degrees worth of enemies in the world.

• Naïve, self-serving Republicans are selling the US out for open borders to break unions with cheap immigrant labor.  Naïve and radical Democrats are selling the US out for open borders to acquire millions of obedient leftist and "brown racist" voters, driven in large part by the La Raza party's reconquista (re-conquest) of the American Southwest (Aztlan) for eventual re-annexation to Mexico.  But the American public knows that the US's undefended borders must be sealed if the US is to be able to defend itself.

• In both Germany and Denmark the police have arrested suspected Islamist terrorists.  In the German case, two of the three suspects are native Germans who had converted to Islam.  This is European self-hatred in full flower!

• Fox News reports that the Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, has been living under state protection against threats on his life by Muslim radicals since the 2004 murder of film-maker, Theo van Gogh.  The radical Muslims have threatened to kill him as they and their surrogates did Pim Fortuyn and van Gogh.  Iran recently threatened dire consequences if Wilders' short 10-minute film called "Fitna" documenting Muslim intolerance in the teachings of the Koran relating to women and non-Muslims is shown on Dutch television.  The world will soon see whether the Dutch government is cowardly enough to be cowed into "submission" to radical Islam.

• Danish police have broken up the latest plot to assassinate Jyllands-Posten cartoonists who "offended" thin-skinned Islamist extremists in 2005 with their harmless cartoons.  Those arrested had frequented the same gym as Kurt Westergaard.  But the promise of fame and money will continue to keep new "wannabe assassins" coming.  Most Westerners have no grasp of the bottomless depths of the bitter Islamist depravity that motivates these people.

• You can bet that terror cells are busy all over Europe, the UK, and Scandinavia preparing shops to build car-bombs and explosive belts they hope to explode for maximum body-count to intimidate the West into "submission" (Islam).  Hang onto your hat.

• The brave cartoonist, Kurt Westergaard, and his editors have re-printed the cartoons to reassert their right to free expression in civil society, despite the radical Islamists' threats.  In all of Scandinavia, the Danes are notably those with the most courage to stand up for their values.  That's character!  By contrast, Sweden is in a catatonic state of perpetual denial and self-delusion.  And Norway seems to believe that it can escape the Islamists' notice and their wrath if it just "plays nice".

• In a vain search for redemption after his pitiful display of weakness and idealistic foolishness vis-à-vis the Iranian embassy kidnappers in the late 1970s, and to hope to appear to play any credible constructive political role in world affairs, the embarrassingly naïve, silly, well-intentioned, but idealistic, "woman-raised" former President of the US, Jimmy Carter, has willingly played the dunce for those Islamists who previously helped to discredit him by allowing the Palestinian terrorist government, Hamas, to use him as a dull propaganda tool.  His search for self-justification is so urgent that he seems willing to make the US pay any price to help him achieve it before he runs out of time, and history throws the memory of his tenure onto the junk heap of un-recyclable waste.

• Mexican drug cartels have demanded in publicly posted "death lists" that police and soldiers join their ranks or die.  Those who do not join their criminal organizations are being assassinated, one by one.  Where ruthless drug lords go, can the agents of the Castro-fascist megalomaniac, Hugo Chavez, be far behind across the USA's soft underbelly?  Scratch oligarchic Mexico as unsalvageable, but fertile and ripe for a Castroist revolution.

• Muslim Kosivars have declared Kosovo's independence of Serbia.  Tragic and criminal Serbian genocides against European Muslims contributed enormously to the unfortunate outcome of Europe's abandonment of Serbia's European populations in Kosovo--Muslim, Christian, and otherwise.  By failing much earlier to control runaway immigration into Kosovo province, Serbia effectively stood by while native, non-Muslim Serbs were dispossed of a large part of their country.  By the time the European Union--with the help of the US under Bill Clinton--was drawn into the hostilities, the problem was past the point-of-no-return and the West was unable to resolve that struggle either justly or peacefully.  There's a lesson or two here for all of Europe and the West!

• Islamist radicals are now threatening Norway overtly.  Norwegian police and military know the danger, but Norway's socialist voters and politicians continue to ignore it and coddle Islamist immigrants.

• For those who wonder what direction German politics may take to correct Europe's slide toward cultural decline and political chaos, the book by Guillaume Faye, Wofür wir kämpfen (What We Fight For), provides a jarring conceptual road-map for a restoration of European culture, a "European new-beginning", long after the horse is out of the barn.  The NPD (Nationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands) calls it a "Manifesto of European Resistance", demonizing "Americanization" and relativizing "Islamization", but rejecting both in favor of a "Euro-Siberia".  This entity would be organized as an ethnically and culturally European, "auto-centric" commercial zone, as opposed to a multiracial, multicultural "Eurasia" in an international, world free-trade economy.  See this NPD analysis of a Faye essay in German on the NPD website.

• Irish voters, like English, French and Dutch voters before them, rejected the European Union 's continuing anti-democratic power grab to subordinate them to the EU's shamelessly unaccountable, arrogant political elites.  Supporters of the EU's mischief believe that the people should never have been given the opportunity to vote on the issue!  Soon the tyrants of the EU-empire will be back around the carousel for another try at the gold ring.

• At the EU Summit in Cannes (France) French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, proposed rational changes to EU immigration policies in order to protect Europe from the globalists, not to mention the terrorists.  He wanted to limit the virtually unlimited immigration into the EU (which effectively allows immigrants at-will-migration between EU countries), but his proposal was overridden by the Interior Ministers of the other EU member states, of course.  The homogenization excesses of "Europe" will continue to provoke and strengthen the political bloc of native European populations, whom the socialist, globalist far-left elites lump together and brand under the "neonazi" label.  This is how arrogant elitists prepare the path toward imminent, eventually ethnic civil war in Europe. 

• During such upheaval the ultra-nationalist Slavs, Vladimir Putin of Russia and Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, could be expected to welcome the opportunity to rush to the aid of those who support the creation of a "Euro-Siberia", re-absorbing Ukraine, the Baltic States, Poland, and the Balkans, as well as the other European captive client states of the once and future post-Soviet Russian Empire.

• Russia's attack on Georgian troops in South Ossetia to begin to cut Georgia in half may mark the clearest evidence to date of Russia's chauvinist intentions to rebuild the old post-Soviet Russian Empire by regaining military control of its former puppet states one-by-one.  When Russia is through with Georgia, other NATO wannabees will realize that they cannot count on anything more than lip service, posturing, and bluff from a defunct, disfunctional, gutless NATO and its socialist political elites.

• Russia will not tolerate Georgian competition for control of the European fossil fuel market, or from any other minor political players who control competing gas and oil pipelines to Europe.  Russia must maintain its virtual monopoly on energy supplies to Europe in order to hold Europe hostage to disruptions in fuel supply.  Then Russia hopes to have consolidated its total political control of Europe, on the cheap!

• Even as European enviro-nazis work to discourage all use of "fossil fuels" Russia is grabbing up all the sources of oil and gas it can lay its hands on everywhere between central Asia and the Arctic Ocean.  Russia still claims ownership of Norway's  Svalbard Archipelago in the Arctic Ocean.  In a purloined submarine movie clip stunt Russia reiterated its claim to the oil under the North Pole and the rest of the Arctic Ocean and intentionally disrupted Norwegian oil production in the Norwegian Sea when they sent their fleet on maneuver from Murmansk across the Barents Sea and down through the Norwegian offshore well fields along the west coast of Norway in September 2007.

• Britain under Sharia Law is no longer the Britain we respected for its democracy.  British socialists have taken a wrecking-ball to social order by allowing a parallel legal system for Muslims.  It will be Britain's undoing, if it stands.

• Putin's tit-for-tat to counter NATO's support for an independent Georgia is Russia's increasing support for its surrogate, Hugo Chavez and his totalitarian socialist Venezuela.  The time is long past that the USA might have persuasively invoked the Monroe Doctrine.

Soooo..., why study German?  Why take German?  Why learn German?
