Content: It's Everywhere You Want to Be
Content (images, sounds, and text) is everything in an application that is not programming code. Without content the underlying program has nothing of substance to convey to the learner. Let's look at these three types of media:
Images: Our program likes digital images in .jpg format. One acquires digital images by:*
- copying a photo already in digital form,
- or scanning a photo, thus converting it to digital form.
The Internet offers millions of such images, more and more of which may be purchased from online vendors. Our staff is ready to provide help with image acquisition. Such image files in .jpg format may be uploaded to our system through our toolkit. *All images one does not own may be used in tutorials only with permission from the copyright holder.
Sounds: Our tutorial program prefers sound files in .wav format. The same copyright rules apply to sounds, as to images. The Internet also offers scores of sites containing different kinds of sound files. Our staff is ready to provide help with sound recordings.
Text: The text that makes up much of our tutorial content will be provided by authors within our authoring toolkit. But copyrighted text material may be needed, as well. Authors must secure in writing all permissions to use any copyrighted material.
The author can upload .jpg and .wav files to our servers through the "Add Content" link from the page at this link: http://www.scottsupply.net/GetSmart/EduCentral.htm
