Professional Profile of Joseph L. Scott, Ph.D.Click (CV) for a 1-page curriculum vitæ. Briefly, he has taught in public schools, colleges, or universities since 1961. His academic specialties include the psychology and pedagogy of foreign language learning. He has taught graduate courses in FL teaching methodology and supervised graduate teaching assistants teaching German from elementary school through university lower division at several American universities. His published scholarship includes commercial audio-visual teaching materials for elementary and intermediate German, an editorial survey of language laboratory technology and use in foreign language teaching, interactive online multimedia tutorials for German and Norwegian, plus reviews, articles, and papers in Germanics. Since 1989 he has taught marketing and German as adjunct faculty in the Downtown, Community, and East Campuses of Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ. and at Benson High School, Vail High School, and PCC's Southeast Learning Center at Cienega High School, all in Arizona. He has traveled widely in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Scandinavia. He is fluent in three dialects of American English (Standard, Southern Coastal Plain, "Ebonics"), German, Swedish, and Norwegian (Bokmål); he is currently learning Danish, Dutch, and Icelandic. |
