Born in Akron, Ohio, in 1988, Curry literally has basketball in his blood. His father is Dell Curry, who was also an NBA star. Stephen Curry was born while his father was playing for Cleveland Cavaliers, but he grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as spending some time in Toronto, thanks to his father’s career.

Curry was educated at Charlotte Christian School. While there, he was named in All Conference and All State teams, and also led the team to three Conference and three State titles. He attended Davidson College, an institution that had targeted his recruitment since he was in the 10th Grade at school. Curry left Davidson after his Junior year, when he averaged 28.6 points, 5.6 assists, and 2.5 steals, and was the NCAA leading scorer. In June 2009, he was drafted in the seventh overall pick by the Golden State Warriors. He has played for the team ever since, enjoying tremendous success. 

 

 

He has won three NBA championships with the Warriors, helping the team to the title in 2015, 2017, and 2018. He was named the NBA MVP in 2015 and 2016, and was named in the NBA All Star team for every season from 2014 to 2019. He was the NBA scoring champion and steals leader in 2016. That glittering career has marked Curry out as one of the greatest NBA players of all time.
